Client: Museimpresa

Museum within a landscape sits in the nexus three hilltop towns. The project is comprised of a series of small stone buildings connected by a large roof that sits amongst the tree canopies. The roof follows the terrain as it slopes down the hill.

The carefully positioned openings frame vistas to landscape heritage items. The large oculus in the center of the roof invites natural light and ventilation to infiltrate the stone buildings from all sides while the projecting roof canopies protect against heavy rain and harsh sunlight.

The use of locally sourced stone and the adherence to traditional building techniques not only preserves the charm and authenticity of the surrounding towns but also minimises the environmental impact during construction. The organic connection between the architecture and the landscape ensures a symbiotic relationship, fostering a sense of stewardship and preservation for generations to come.
